The best workout to do when you have your period?
Cramps and period can make exercising suck! … unless you know what the best workout to do is when you have your period.
When you have your period (Day 1 – 7)
Did you know that your cycle starts on the first day of your period… so all that cramping and bloating on day 1 can make you feel rather flat, frumpy and blah! This can be the hardest time to train…
What exercises are best through day 1 – 7
If you feel particularly fine… continue with your normal workout… but if you feel not so great… then I would go for a light walk, and do some really light stretching to help ease those cramps, even some swimming will help as its non-impact.
Should I stretch through day 1-7
Yes, some light lower back stretches would help ease those cramps, you could even lay facedown which can alleviate and give you a lower belly massage, place a heat pack on your lower back.
The best thing to do is to continue with some form of movement. Through the 7 day period, you know that your period will ease inflow…and you feel like you are able to step things up a notch, the cramping has stopped (hopefully) so I would do some more cardio exercises (not explosive) and some lightweight training… we don’t want to stop for 1 week every month because of our period… exercise gives you a natural endorphin, it can elevate your mood and actually make you feel better. x
PS… While PMS might make you feel blah and bloated sweating can help you get rid of extra fluids.
